Part Of Our Memories Forever! Cliff & Stephanie M. (Chapel Hill, NC)
Stephanie and I stayed here a year ago and loved the cabin, the local wineries, and other area attractions so much that we never made it to Asheville! So it was the perfect place to make a return visit so I could ask Stephanie to be my wife… she said yes! Thanks for providing a cozy, secluded, relaxing hideaway that will be part of our memories forever.
A Charming Cottage! Lisa K. (New Market, MD)
A charming cottage and setting as depicted online. Douglas was a gracious host and accommodating. My daughter and I hope to stay again the next time she has an event at Tryon Equestrian Center.
So Glad We Found This Lovely Place! Linda & Roland D. (Orange Park, FL)
I’m so glad we found this lovely place. I was blessed to wake in the mornings without the usual background sound of road noise. Instead we heard quiet! Thank you for having the cabin well stocked with essentials! You are an excellent host!
The Nicest, Sweetest Cabin! Ruth & Drew G. (Travelers Rest, SC)
Douglas, Your cabin is perfectly named, because it was a great retreat for us! We live just a little distance away in Travelers Rest, SC and we didn’t want to go far for our anniversary weekend. This was the nicest, sweetest cabin and we won’t hesitate to recommend it to others that would appreciate the quiet. Thank you!

Our friends Zoe & Ted K. recommended your property to us and we have enjoyed every minute of our stay. Very unique!
What’s Great About Airbnb! (Molly & George M. from Rochester, NY)
Douglas and his beautiful cabin are examples of what’s great about AirBnB. We were given a warm welcome, helpful information about the local community, and a few days in a sparkling clean romantic cabin in the foothills on North Carolina. We could not have asked for a more gracious host or a more exquisite, yet down-to-Earth, holiday destination.
Welcoming & Friendly! (Linda & Mel G. from Albemarle, NC)
We enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was welcoming and friendly, and exactly as described on the website. When we walked into the sweet smell of wood made us feel completely relaxed. We recommend it for a nice quiet getaway.
Best Off-The-Grid Airbnb! (Jonathan P. from Greensboro, NC)
10/10 Best off-the-grid/close to everything Airbnb I’ve stayed in. Douglas provided all the essentials we needed and even messaged us after our first nights stay to ask if we needed anything else. If you’re looking for a great stay in a great location to everything, this is the place for you!
Awesome Place To Stay! (Josh R. from Wilmington, NC)
Thank you for being an excellent host and providing an awesome place to stay. Perfect place for 2 to enjoy relaxation, serenity and peace. The space was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, kuerig coffee/tea pods were provided for each day, shower was hot, fire place added a nice touch, and the family of deer surrounding the cabin upon arrival and as we were checking out was magical.
Adorable Little Cabin! (William & Shannon T. from Savannah, GA)
When I first starting looking for a home to rent for my husband and I to stay in for a friend’s wedding, I started off just looking for somewhere as close as possible to their home/venue. When I found this adorable little cabin we hit the jackpot. Not only was it less than 5 minutes from their house, but it was perfect for everything we needed. Warm, cozy and just overall a great place to spend a weekend. It happened to be the first cold weekend of the season so we even got to enjoy the gas fireplace when we got back to the cabin at night! Douglas really goes above and beyond to make sure his guests will have everything they need, from bottled water already in the mini fridge to soap in the shower. We would definitely love to come back for future visits!
An Honor And Pleasure to Relax Here! (George P. from Pahrump, NV)
An honor and pleasure to share my thanks for time spent relaxing here at Reynard’s Retreat. My accommodations were only surpassed by the kindness and courtesy of Doug. Peace and quiet, only conversation I had and wanted occurred with the many deer meandering about. I pray others are as blessed with their stay here as I. I will endeavor to return. Thank you and God bless.
Absolutely Adorable! (Caroline B. from Myrtle Beach, SC)
This cabin is absolutely adorable, and is meticulously clean. It seems brand new. The bed is a pillowtop, and the little fireplace is the perfect touch. The location is super private–it’s in a secluded grass field, hidden from the road. You could lay out a blanket and watch the stars all night. It’s wonderful to have the “tiny cabin” feel with a full sized bathroom. Oh, and Tyron is such an adorable town. It’s like out of a movie. Eat at Huckleberrys–the shrimp and grits is to die for. We were going to stay in Asheville, but ended up staying here instead, and we’re so glad we did. The ride from this cabin into town is it’s own amazing experience. We also did a Hunger Games tour on location in DuPont national state park (highly recommended!), and horseback riding in Pisgah national forest. Everything was closeby. This cabin is magical. We’ll be back!
A Definite 5 Star Getaway! (Zoe K. from Montclair, NJ)
Wonderful WEG Stay! (Nicole, Nancy & Quentin D. from New Orleans, LA)
We had a wonderful stay for the WEG (World Equestrian Games) event and couldn’t be more satisfied with the lovely accommodations. A+. Doug was a gracious host and really made us feel welcome. Enjoyed nature at its finest as well as the cozy cabin. Can’t wait to make another trip soon! Our most sincere appreciation! Thank you!
Fanatic Location! (Joy & Julie L. from Durham, NC)
We had such a wonderful time here this weekend! What a fanatic location; we were able to go hiking at Pisgah National Park, drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway, visit downtown Asheville and even explore Greenville! The cabin was perfectly cozy and really gave a warm atmosphere. We wanted a weekend away from the stresses of life and this place was a perfect match. Thank you for a perfect weekend!
Above And Beyond The Description! (Julie & Elizabeth H. from Miami, FL)
It isn’t often that a property exceeds your own high expectations, but this sweet little cabin manages to do just that. For such a small space, there is everything you might need for your stay in this stylish little cottage. It sits slightly down the hill from the road, tucked in amongst the trees, and therefore enjoys both privacy and quiet. Parking is mere steps to the front door, and Douglas made our self check-in easy, but choosing a code based on my cell number. We opened the front door to a charming cottage filled with everything you might need, including chilled bottled water and granola bars. For such a small space, there was plenty of room for two people to unpack and spread out their things. And I appreciated the well thought out instructions and labels found throughout the cottage. Everything worked perfectly, and we can’t wait to stay here again soon.
Beautiful, Cozy Place To Visit! (Cliff & Stephanie M. from Chapel Hill, NC)

Deer, Bluebirds, Squirrels! (Larry & Joeanne L. from Summerville, SC)
We wanted to start the New Year in a place we hope to be able to move to soon. We are seriously looking at tiny houses in the NC foothills or mountains. Is is such a peaceful way of life. We went to Green River and Blue Ridge Cabins and got lots of ideas. This cabin was perfect for a peaceful getaway. I love all the wood, the door frame and the porch was awesome! Deer, bluebirds, squirrels… just what we needed and hope to be back soon! Thanks Doug and Ken for a lovely vacation. Happy New Year!

Best Little Cabin Ever! (Jodi & Trip C. from Charleston, SC)
This is the best little cabin ever! My husband and I were in the area for a wedding at Parker-Binns winery and this location was perfect. The cabin is super clean, nicely decorated and has a lot of thoughtful touches added to make the stay even more enjoyable. Doug is an excellent host and checked on us to make sure that we had everything we needed! It’s such a wonderful cabin centrally located to all of the surrounding towns and sights. We will be back! I want to see this albino squirrel that everyone was talking about in the guest book!
Charming Retreat! (Brian H. from Moore, SC)
This was our first time using Airbnb. Douglas was an incredible host and was fantastic with his communication. This was an incredible and charming retreat that was peaceful, and yet so convenient to shopping and restaurants. We are already looking forward to going back!

Designed With No Detail Left Out! (Joyce H. from Morrison, CO)
Doug’s “cabin” (it felt more like a miniature chalet!) is in horse country, amidst rolling green hills bordered by trees and forests. The cottage was immaculate, designed with no detail left out, in the country but with easy, quick access to all the surrounding attractions and towns. Doug has his guests best stay as his priority, even had the lights on for my arrival. Directions were very clear, he actively checked in by email to make sure everything was ok. In the cabin was a very thorough description of places to visit activities and dining options – a chamber of commerce writer would be impressed. I hope to return again the next time I visit family in the area.
Total Privacy And Quiet! (Linda H. from Clarksville, MD)
This amazing cabin is nestled in the beautiful countryside of Tryon. The cabin is furnished beautifully and every little thing has been thought of; full kitchen and bath. The front porch complete with rocking chairs is wonderful to just sit and look out at the field and woods; This amazing cabin is nestled in the beautiful countryside of Tryon. Exactly As Described On Airbnb! (Katharine M. from Greer, SC)
We loved everything about our stay in this scenic, cozy, and uniquely beautiful cabin. The cabin is exactly as described on Airbnb. The host is very welcoming. The first day he greeted us very soon after arrival and provided us with eclipse glasses when all the stores were out! It is a great place to get away in the peace and quiet while enjoying nature.
Perfect For Our Weekend Getaway! (Tim & Brandi O. from Ridgeland, SC)
House was perfect for our weekend getaway. Close proximity to Asheville and surrounding western NC. Very clean home and private/quiet property. Will definitely look to stay here again.
Awesome experience! The best!! (Mark & Brett O. from Miami, FL)
Douglas, thanks so much for a spectacular time! Awesome experience! The best!!
Little Slice of Heaven! (Stacy S. from Davidson, NC)
I can’t say enough about this little slice of heaven. Quaint, adorable and equipped with everything! My daughter and I were here for her very first horse show at FENCE. This perfect little cabin made the entire weekend stress free. This is definitely our new horse show retreat!
Went Above and Beyond! (Cathy J. from Black Mountain, NC)
Not to far off the interstate and a private location, made this a perfect honeymoon night for our son and daughter-in-love. A great escape and stopping off point on their way to Myrtle Beach, SC. Douglas was a fabulous host and went above and beyond to pick up extra snacks and leave a personal note I mailed earlier for their arrival. Thanks Douglas for all your care and attention!
Fantastic Lodging Alternative! (Tammy & Colette L, from Pinehurst, NC)
FANTASTIC lodging alternative for a horse show weekend at FENCE! Loved being able to zip there and back to check on horse. Enjoyed seeing a bobcat walk right past the kitchen window as I was cleaning up prior to departure… then a wild turkey walked by shortly after. Great ending to staying here! Will return, thanks Doug!
Comfy And Cozy! (Norman P. from Seabrook Island, SC)
Thanks Doug, enjoyed the cabin and peaceful setting while visiting my horse. Very comfy and cozy.
Lovely And Comfortable! (Phillip & Amanda W. from Columbia, SC)
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is lovely and comfortable. We would have preferred a more isolated, rural setting but the place is great for a relaxing weekend if you are traveling during the day. We visited the Sierra Nevada brewery and Hendersonville in one day.
Exceeded Our Expectations! (Linda L. from Clarksville, MD)
The cabin exceeded our expectations in that we had everything we needed. It was especially nice to have the full size bathroom. It was very clean and we loved the furniture including the very comfortable rocking chairs on the porch. Serene and beautiful location yet only a few minutes from town/grocery stores, etc. Can’t wait to come back!!
We Loved Our Stay! (Anja D. from Sarasota, FL)
5 Star all the way! We loved our stay, we loved the cabin! We WILL be back.
Great Little Place! (James B. from Greensboro, NC)
Thanks Doug, great little place!
Perfect For A Romantic Getaway! (Amber B. from Raleigh, NC)
My husband and I spent a nice, relaxing weekend at Douglas’ cabin. It was exactly as pictured and perfect for a romantic getaway. We loved how cozy and intimate it was while still having everything we needed. Our GPS was directing us to the wrong section of the road when we arrived, so you may want to pay attention to the addresses on nearby mailboxes rather than your GPS. This was only a problem since we arrived after dark. There is a sign in front of the driveway that is easily readable in the daylight, and you can see the distinctive cabin from the road.
Will Definitely Recommend! (Garry & Deidre W. from Wellford, SC)
Spent our honeymoon night here in this lovely cabin. So nice to sleep in front of the fire. Very peaceful and restful after a very busy couple of days. We loved the way the cabin was decorated! Thank you for hosting us. We will definitely recommend to our friends.
Everything We Wanted And More! (English S. from Charleston, SC)
This small cabin in the woods is everything we wanted and more! We felt secluded and private. The cabin was well equipped with an easy kitchen, clean bathroom, and comfortable bed! We are already planning our trip back next year.
The Amenities Were Great! (Chira W. from Gainesville, GA)
Although the cabin was small, the amenities were great. The jetted tub is awesome, the bed is very comfortable and we got to see lots of deer. The local restaurants were excellent and Doug is a very informative host.
Very Accommodating! (Coleman S. from Atlanta, GA)
A fantastic, clean, and private cabin that was a great getaway. Douglas was a fantastic host and was very accommodating and provided great communication. Overall a great place to stay.
Relaxing Getaway! (Arielle W. from Asheville, NC)
Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing getaway! This wee home is cozy as they come. As privacy seekers its large lawn on the fringe of the woods felt appropriately secluded- spotted deer, squirrels, and little birds. While we felt blissfully alone, it’s just a short hop into both Landrum or Tryon, and even closer to the beautiful equestrian nature center. Douglas was the commensurate host- even being so helpful as to send back a charger we (of course!) left plugged in. Proof we were able to escape the world a bit, no? I am happy to recommend it for your next vacay.
Perfectly Appointed! (Joshua D. from Chesterfield, VA)
The place is an absolute value. Perfectly appointed. This cabin is in the middle of horse country, quiet, and secluded BUT 10 minutes from wineries and historic little towns with great food. Will stay again if in the area!!
Lovely Place! (Nathan B. from Wilmington, NC)
Thanks again for having me. It’s a lovely place and I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
Well Appointed! (Kimberly K. from Wilson, NC)
This place could not have been any cuter or more well appointed! The Keurig absolutely saved my life as I left each morning around 5am for the horse show and really did not have time to stop anywhere for coffee. There was also bottled water upon my arrival which I was very thankful for. Each chilly morning I was there I completely enjoyed my instant fireplace and bathroom heater. The place may be small but it’s charm is huge. It has everything you need like a deep Jacuzzi tub, kitchen items, comfy bed and soothing lighting. I don’t think I could have asked for anything better! The place was super clean and attention was paid to all the little details. Douglas was also very helpful and available when I arrived at 8pm in the dark to find this hidden gem.
Romantic and Quiet! (Jamie M. from Wilmington, SC)
Everything about our experience was wonderful! The cabin was the perfect place to spend our first wedding anniversary. It was romantic and quiet but close to Tryon and only an hour from Asheville. We can’t wait to come back! So much better than staying in a hotel.
Place Was Spotless! (Barry J. from Irmo, SC)
Had a great time. Place was spotless and great location. Loved the isolation, the deer and just being alone with my wife of 32 years. It was the perfect place for us. Thanks so much!
Intrinsic Beauty! (Phyllis & Paul W. from Louisburg, NC)
“There are elements of intrinsic beauty in the simplification of a house built on the log cabin idea.” — Gustav Stickley. Reynard’s Retreat certainly applies to this quote. It reminded my husband and me of lodgings we used in Europe. The bed was cozy and comfortable. The bathroom was surprisingly roomy. We loved our food at the Hare & Hound Restaurant in Landrum, SC. That was a great suggestion from Douglas. We’d love to come back to this neat cabin!
Fantastic Reprieve! (Jack W. from NY, New York)
Douglas was very helpful, communicating all I needed to know before my arrival. This cabin is a special place and a fantastic reprieve from city life. Thank you!
Quaint and peaceful! (Kelly from Jupiter, FL)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It’s so quaint and peaceful! The cabin was very clean and provided everything we needed. Thanks for the wonderful get-away!
Adorable little cottage! (Dee & Mac M. from Greer, SC)
We came to this adorable little cottage to renew our confidence and to make some life changing decisions. This lovely serene place gave us time to pray and reflect on our coming journey on what direction we needed to go. The deer, turkey and a brief glimpse of the “famous” white squirrel humbled us to believe that everything was exactly as it should be! We found peace within ourselves and the confidence to move forward to simplify our lives and to proceed as God has moved us forward in a beautiful way! Thank you for providing such a beautiful environment for all of this to take place! You are the vessel that God has used to bring this peace to so many. We will be back – God bless you.
This place is more then just a retreat! (Jennifer M. from Inman, SC)
I came to your beautiful cottage/cabin this weekend to re-center, contemplate, relax and get my thoughts organized. My main focus was the vision for my future. The solitude in this very peaceful and inspirational space helped me to focus back on what really mattered. My marriage was something I was prepared to walk away from, but amidst painting, music, rest, writing, etc. I have decided to fight for it. This place is more then just a retreat. It is a god send. I saw a family of deer last night and they all stayed together. It was a final confirmation that my family should as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Truly encourages a restful spirit! (Andrew F. from Charleston, SC)
This cabin truly encourages a restful spirit. It’s quiet and the cabin is super clean with a bathtub ready to relax in. I would recommend it to anyone! I have to come back.
Tucked Away Little Piece Of Heaven! (Nanci B. from Chapel Hill, NC)
We had a wonderful stay at this tucked away little piece of heaven. The cabin is simply lovely, well maintained and charming. There is everything you need to get away and enjoy the peaceful setting. Douglas welcomed us but allowed us our privacy. It was hard to leave! We give it an enthusiastic recommendation. We’ll return the next time we’re in the area and plan to stay longer.
Very Accommodating! (Marcia S. from John’s Creek, GA)
Douglas responded very soon after I made an inquiry, made sure I knew he was available for whatever might come up and was very accommodating.
Luxury home away from home! (Cristina S. from Lewis-McCord. WA)
Seeing the cabin in person was way more impressive then the picture could ever convey! My brother rented the cabin for us to stay in while visiting the area and it was like a luxury home away from home! We loved breakfast on the front porch. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here!
The cabin is truly perfect! (Cory & Caroline W. from Winscasset, ME)
This is the first time either of us have used Airbnb and could not have been more pleased. The cabin is truly perfect; providing us with everything we could have needed. We too observed two baby deer roaming the property, a wonderful sight indeed. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take a much needed break from our hectic lives. We only wished we could have stayed longer.
The place was spotless! (Karen M. from Cary, NC)
The communication was timely, the place was spotless, in great condition and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable. The Keurig, with tea and coffee was a nice touch. The materials on the area were terrific. Everything was labeled (light switches, etc). The instructions for the lock and cabin operations were well done and helpful. Directions were easy to follow. It was perfect for what I needed, fairly priced and a lot more fun than a chain hotel stay.
Even cuter than the pictures! (Caroline W. from Wiscasset, ME)
Douglas was fantastic to work with: quick, easy and utterly painless. The cabin was even cuter than the pictures portrayed. They provided us with everything we needed and then some. I will without a doubt visit Reynard’s Retreat again as well as recommend it to all of my friends and family. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Perfect cabin getaway! (Keri W. from Leland, NC)
Reynard’s Retreat was the perfect cabin getaway in the perfect location. The cabin was very neat, comfy and inviting! Douglas was very easy to work with and accommodating.
Everything We Needed! (Anna W. from Charlotte, NC)
What a wonderful little hideaway! Nicely furnished and had everything we needed. Doug was always quick to reply to any questions or needs. He even shipped back clothing that we left. Great stay and will definitely use the cottage again.
Cozy And Charming! (Jeff & Melissa C. from Lake Waccamaw, NC)
Our stay at Reynard’s Retreat was next level. Douglas is an amazing host. He made sure we had anything we needed and our privacy as well. The cabin is quite comfortable, cozy, and charming. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. One of the best experiences ever! We are definitely returning as soon as we can for another stay.
What A Perfect Hideaway! (Lisa & Anne H. from Greensboro, NC)
Happy Valentines Day! What a perfect hideaway! We’re coming back to see the fox!
Perfect Place to Get Away! (Karl C. from Bowling Green, KY)
Douglas did a great job at giving me a place to propose to my girlfriend at. The quantities of the cabin as well as the remoteness was everything I was looking for. If you are searching for that perfect place to get away, look no further, you have found it. We will definitely return in the future.
Beautiful Retreat! (Eliza, Sarah & Laura J. from Raleigh, NC)
Me, my sister, and my mom stayed here while visiting relatives in Inman, SC. It was nice to have a beautiful retreat to get away from some family craziness 😉 We saw the albino squirrel and loved playing outside. We also had fun in downtown Landrum looking at the little shops. We got a brief period of relaxation, again before the chaos of Christmas. Hope you enjoy your stay here too!
Beautifully simple! (Kathy & Joel M. from Savannah, GA)
Such a peaceful, relaxing retreat! The cabin is beautifully simple, thoughtfully designed, and in a quiet setting so close to area attractions yet away from it all. We loved having our breakfast and coffee on the porch each morning, listening to the geese and migrating flocks of birds passing overhead. In the evenings, we relaxed in the cozy cabin with books to read in the enveloping silence. Thanks for sharing this lovely cabin with us. We are already planning another stay perhaps longer this next time. You have thought of everything to make our stay memorable.
Very Peaceful! (Steven B. from Mt. Pleasant, SC)
We found Reynard’s Retreat to be very peaceful. We did not meet Douglas in person but he reached out frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. Great location for exploring the Western NC mountains.
Great private setting! (David B. from Chattanooga , TN)
Great private setting with a convenient location to the surrounding area. Host emailed texted and called to make sure everything was exceptional. Once you are confirmed they give you a code to the cabin making it easy to check in without exchanging keys. No cleaning fee! Highly recommended.
Truly a wonderful experience! (Clay M. from Birmingham, AL)
Truly a wonderful experience! Douglas’s cabin is as attractive as it is equipped; as cozy as it is crafty; as relaxing as it is thoughtful. I spent a rainy weekend away from the hustle and found every bit of comfort, beauty, and relaxation I’d hoped for. This place has everything you need to spend a weekend (or longer) in the beautiful, friendly, and fun foothills. The cabin is spotless, with a very comfortable bed, all the kitchen you need, and a cozy fireplace. The covered front porch and its rockers made for great wildlife and rain viewing. Although I didn’t meet Doug, he was a perfectly accommodating host in every way I needed and was easy to communicate with. Bottom line – stay here if you can. You’ll love your time in the foothills, the cabin, and the revitalization that comes from a relaxing weekend.
Wonderful stress free weekend! (Dawn J. from Newberry, SC)
Thank you so much for a wonderful stress free weekend. Your cabin was so nice and comfy. We enjoyed sitting on porch in the evening and just listening to the crickets and birds. We hope to return again soon!
Comfortable with everything you need! (Jeff G. from Greer, SC)
Fantastic cabin for a quick weekend getaway with my wife. Comfortable with everything you need, and set on a private piece of property. Owner was very easy to work with, and we would happily stay here again.
Will always cherish this place! (Kevin & Sarah C. from Fairview, NC)
Had a wonderful wedding night here after getting married at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon. We will always cherish this place! Now off to Rome!
Overall charming and private! (Chris & Sophia G. from Birmingham, AL)
My daughter and I stayed at the cabin for a week while showing at Tryon (~10miles); it is new, clean, simple, well appointed (small kitchen), private, and charming. The main bed is comfortable and convenient. The second bed is a loft, and worked great for my nimble 18 year-old. I recommend sitting on the front porch and watching the deer crisscross the field. The host is a prompt and excellent communicator. I would happily stay here again. Overall charming and private.
Very relaxing! (Lauralee & Joe S. from Charleston, SC )
Really nice. Wish we can live in this area some day soon. Very relaxing. Hope to come again.
Great little paradise setting in the woods! (Stuart & Leslie B. from Oakwood, GA)
We did not get a chance to meet with Douglas, but found our cottage to be a great little paradise setting in the woods. The cottage is set back from the road in a private, wooded surrounding. We saw a deer family the night we arrived and spyed a wild turkey while having coffee on the front porch the next morning. The interior of the cottage was spotless and nicely appointed with “Rustic, Cabin Style” furnishings and details. We enjoyed the ambient style fireplace very much. A perfect getaway for two and possibly a small child (The loft area is big enough for one to two 5-10yr. olds). The building itself is of high grade material and craftsmanship. There is a small creek that surrounds the property line just down the hill from the cottage. The location of the property is perfect for 30 min trips to Hendersonville, Flat Rock, Lake Lure and a short drive to coffee and excellent dinner / lunch restaurants in Landrum and Tyron (Huckleberry’) We definitely recommend the European Style Cabin for a private getaway in the foothill mountains of North Carolina. Thanks Douglas!
Awesome Stay! (Michael M. from Columbia, SC )
It was awesome staying at Reynard’s Retreat. I found the cabin and the surroundings to be very relaxing and helped me tackle the day’s events while on my business trip. I hope to visit your cabin again very soon.
Perfectly appointed for two! (Steven & Clara G. from Mount Pleasant, SC )
We found the cabin to be idyllic. It was immaculately cleaned and perfectly tucked away in a copse of trees, right beside the babbling brook. In the evening, we were greeted by a herd of deer who were not too interested in what we were having for dinner. In the morning, the wild turkeys saw fit to wish us good morning with gobbling outside the door. In short, all we want is a cabin like this for ourselves! It was easy to find, just remote enough, and perfectly appointed for two people to enjoy.
This is the perfect getaway! (Ben & Jessica I. from Raleigh, NC)
My fiance and I loved our stay in this beautiful, cozy retreat and regretted that we couldn’t stay longer on this visit. This is the perfect getaway. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you!
Quiet and comfortable stay! (Jim H. from Rome, GA)
Thank you for a very quiet and comfortable stay! If you don’t mind, I would like to call next week to learn more about your rental program and long term-stays.
Love the area and the cabin! (Stephen & Rachel B. from Charleston, SC)
Our second stay at Reynard’s Retreat was as great if not better then our first stay in 2013. The weather was sunny and in the high 50’s which gave us perfect cycling conditions. We rode to the top of Skyuka Mountain Rd, where I asked Rachel if I could marry her. She said YES!!! Love the area and the cabin.
P.S. There is a white squirrel in the woods by the driveway! Hope others can spot it!
Perfect for a weekend getaway! (Michael & Rachel B. from Columbia, SC)
My wife took me here for a weekend getaway. We only saw 1 deer, as we were kinda busy the entire weekend. Perfect for a weekend getaway!
Could not have been more perfect! (Ben & Lindsay M. from Mebane, NC)
My husband and I looked for a while for the perfect place to celebrate our one year anniversary. We found the place and it could not have been any more perfect. Thank you for this wonderful memory!
Best sleep in a very long time! (Lisa Marie, Mia & Reese T. from Birmingham, AL)
We just got in late last evening and will be here for 2 more nights. My two girls (9 & 17) and myself all had the best sleep in a very long time! We are here for my daughter to show her horse at the Tryon International Equine Center (a beautiful faculty) and normally would spend the entire day at the show. However, we couldn’t wait to get back to the cabin and relax! My 17 year old keeps thanking me for bringing here to experience this and we’ve stayed in several cabins. Thank you so much for such a beautiful little cabin set on beautiful land!
(Mia: Daughter 17) My mom and my little sister stayed here. It was so amazing and my favorite thing was the loft. We saw a doe and its baby. Thank you so much for letting us stay in this cabin Douglas.
(Reese: Daughter 9) My Favorite thing was the loft and the two deer I saw. The loft was the coolest thing ever and the two deer I saw which where a doe and its baby. It was the cutest thing ever. Thank you for letting me stay here!
Everything was just perfect! (Olin R. from Beaufort, SC)
We had a lovely stay! Loved fixing breakfast and eating on the porch! We saw lots of deer! Everything was just perfect!
Adorable little cabin: (Amy C. from West Palm Beach, FL)
After considerable local lodging research, I stayed at Reynard’s Retreat while attending a horse show at the Tryon Intentional Equestrian Center. I and am so glad I found this adorable little cabin! It was so wonderful to be close to the show facilities and yet be able to return to the peaceful settling of the cabin. The cabin is beautifully appointed and the property is extremely relaxing with lots of deer present. We can’t wait to come back again!
This was so much fun!: (Hugh & Blanche W. from Bowman, SC)

My fiancé, Brenda, and I enjoyed our stay immensely. Although it rained we enjoyed the quiet, lightening bugs, and deer at the cabin. The nearby towns were very nice and the people were friendly. Thank you for a great weekend.

Cozy & relaxing: (Ben & Nora L. from Efland, NC)
I just wanted to say that Nora and I had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was very cozy and relaxing. The weather turned out very nice, and it was enjoyable to just sit on the porch with a cup of coffee. It was also quite convenient to the BBQ festival and many of the neat antique shops in Landrum and Tryon (where we ended up buying more than we should have). I hope that everything was left in proper order. We would love to stay there again some time.
Best place we’ve stayed EVER!: (Laura & Mike A. from Cortland, IL)
Today we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. (In case you’re wondering… it’s not always easy or pleasant, but it is worth it). Two days ago we found this cabin on-line and what a treasure it is! This has been the best place we’ve stayed EVER! We felt like newlyweds again!! Thank you for a dream come true – a tiny cabin nestled in a private woodsy setting. We saw turkeys and yes they do make noise… when being followed 😉 and deer. We enjoyed the creek and breakfast at the picnic table. We’re heading to a resort in South Carolina today and I’ll venture a guess that when we’re done with our four day stay there we’ll still say this was our best night. Thanks!
We loved staying here: (Danya, Brad & Mark S. from St. Johns, FL)
The cabin is perfect! We loved staying here. It has everything and more that we needed and the proximity to FENCE is wonderful! We saw deer and fireflies on the property which was pretty awesome. Our son never saw fireflies before! We went into town to eat and shop and visited Person Falls which was pretty amazing! The cabin is beautifully decorated and Doug was wonderful to work with – very professional and friendly. We will definitely come back soon. We loved our stay at Reynard’s Retreat!
Son (Age 9): What I really like is the loft because you have to climb the latter up to the loft. Another thing I like is all the space outside so I can run all around. The property also has a stream in the forest. Also the fireflies, I like to catch them every night. I also like the deer you can see them every night. One time I saw 8 deer!
Adorable and perfect: (Lisa R. from Simsonville, SC)
The cabin is adorable and perfect. I could move in for ever. I brought a friend who needed to relax. Saw seven deer at one time and a turkey. I will be back and recommend this to others!
Memorable and never forgotten: (Brandon & Sabrina B. from Raleigh, NC)
Had a great relaxing weekend. Sabrina and I felt so comfortable in the cabin that we would like to come stay again. Our experience this trip in the mountains will be memorable and never forgotten.
Blissfully quiet and peaceful: (Bill & Thomas R. from Carmel, IN)
I recently visited North Carolina with my son to do some cycling with friends in the mountains. The cabin is conveniently located near some of the best road cycling I’ve experienced in the Carolinas and I would recommend it to anyone. The cabin is clean, efficient and really blissfully quiet and peaceful. I can’t wait to return for future cycling trips!
Warm inviting atmosphere: (Rick & Stacy S. from Dunwoody, GA)
We stayed here in an effort to decide if we wanted to to a buy a cabin from Green River Cabins. This cabin sold us – love how well this place is constructed; so impressive! And when we drove in last night there were five deer to greet us and the lights were on creating a warm inviting atmosphere. A truly lovely get away!
Very clean and cozy: (Ted & Cynthia B. from Greenville, SC)
Beautiful, cozy cabin. Very clean and nice design. We spent the night and felt very comfortable.
Stars so bright: (Stephen & Rachael L. from Charleston, SC)
Beautiful, cute cabin. Stephen and I really enjoyed the quaint, cozy atmosphere it had to offer. I haven’t had the chance to see stars this bright in a long time! We loved how secluded we felt. Great terrain for riding the bike. Thank you!
Elegant, very clean and comfortable: (Morin & Ran L. from Reut Israel)
We spent the weekend in the cabin at the end of a week tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We looked for a quiet country place and found this cabin to be a perfect match. It is small, elegant, very clean and comfortable. The fireplace was giving nice heat and the added to a great romantic weekend.
Hansel and gretel setting: (Walter & Karen P. from Hilton Head, SC)
We had in our minds eye a vision of the perfect cabin in the mountains and were delighted to find that it actually existed here at your perfect place. Thank you!
Warm memories: (Richard & Jennifer G. from Ft. Mead, MD)
My finance and I just loved this cozy cabin for two! It was so clean and inviting upon arrival and we made very warm memories here. The front proch is great for sitting and watching the summer storms roll in; we couldn’t stop saying how beautiful and romantic it is here.
Wonderful cabin: (Warren & Jennifer W. from Columbia, SC)
My boyfriend, Warren and I came here for a small get away. The cabin was as perfect as we could have hoped for. Though it rained a bit, we still loved cooking and listening to it from the cabin. Loved watching the fireflies at night while sitting on the porch and the small deer in the mornings. The cabin could not have been more beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much and hope to return again! You have a wonderful cabin and thank you for allowing us to make memories here!

Comfortable and cozy: (Mike & Cindy W. from Fairborn, OH)
We loved the cabin… it is so comfortable and cozy! It was the perfect place for us to be close to our friends, while we were in town for their wedding and reception. We would definitely stay again when we come to visit them. Thank you!
Incredible getaway: (Max C. from Raleigh, NC)
The best getaway that my fiancee and myself have ever found in all of NC. It seemed as if Doug knew everything there is to make a stay somewhere feel exactly like a home away from home. We were able to finally get away from city life, if even for a weekend, cook our own romantic dinner by a fireplace, and enjoy perfect peace and quiet without breaking the bank. We will certainly be coming back, and hopefully soon.
Perfect: (Paul & Susan W. from Minneapolis, MN)
Our stay at Reynard’s retreat exceeded our expectations. The cabin is quaint, cozy, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We appreciated the subtle amenities like Keurig machine, heat option in bathroom fixture, comfortable bed, gas fireplace, key-less entry, etc. Plus, it was convenient to both Asheville NC and Greenville SC, while being able to thoroughly enjoy Tryon NC. We highly recommend this perfect, European style cabin.
Enchanted and romantic: (Terry & Cher B. from St. Augustine, FL)
Reynard’s Retreat is an enchanted getaway for two! My wife and I loved our stay and look forward to returning soon! The cabin was beautiful. We had wildlife out our front door and an romantic canopy of stars overhead.
Cozy and romantic weekend away: (Allison W. from Sumter, SC)
My boyfriend and I spent the weekend here and had a great time. The location itself isn’t too far from things, yet It was a perfect location for privacy. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful right down to every detail. Ideal for two for a romantic weekend away from it all. From the large yard right on the edge of the woods and fireflies at dusk, to watching deer in the yard. We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it to others.
Weekend horse show stay: (Marsha S. from Charlotte, NC)
My daughter and I stayed at the cabin while attending a horse show at FENCE. It was so wonderful to be close to the facilities and yet be able to return to the peaceful settling of the cabin. I lived in Germany when I was 11 and the cabin brought back wonderful memories of that time! This morning I pulled out the drive and was greeted by a doe and her baby! We can’t wait to come back again.
Daughter (Age 10) : I loved hearing the crickets chirp at night and the birds singing by day. I have always loved nature and staying here and seeing the outdoors brought it to a new level. The bed was so comfy and the water pressure was good and the shower was so cool. Next time we come I am going to sleep in the cute little loft! See you next time!
An amazing experience not to be forgotten: (Steve P. from Preston, United Kingdom)
Traveling to NC for the first time from the UK, id had visions of the beautiful rugged terrain, crystal clear lakes and breath-taking views. What can I say? Reynard’s Retreat gave me my dream getaway and more! Having been delayed a couple of hours on the flight and in much need of rest, it was a pleasure to be met by the smiling face of Doug and be welcomed into a week I will never forget.
The bed was perfect, cozy and laid with fresh sheets, the kitchen was well stocked and everywhere was spotless and yet, I felt at home. After a great night’s sleep, the true adventure began; My mornings were often met with fleeting glances of deer grazing in the fields, foraging squirrels and one or twice; the cry of a Hawk! It was amazing to be so close to such fantastic wildlife; it added a great unique experience. The nearby town of Tryon offered a great first day of exploring, taking me back to the “old style” feel of the USA we all always see on TV at home; the locals were great, the food was great, everything about the place shone warmth and I just lost myself in the culture. As the week continued (and I got braver), my adventures took me further afield; finally laying eyes on the famous chimney rock; cruising down the blue ridge parkway; hiking through “F.E.N.C.E” and maybe once or twice exploring one of the local rustic bars!
Overall “Reynard’s retreat” gave me everything it promised and more, fantastic owners, a beautiful cabin (I could talk for hours about that fire place), a world of great possibilities and a truly unforgettable once in a lifetime trip (even when it rained). Very highly recommended for people looking for a romantic getaway, or like me, the “bald” adventurer.
Romantic and private: (Bodil H. from Slagelse, Denmark)
“Renard`s Retreat” is a little cosy cabin with lots of space for two persons for a romantic getaway. Its located in the beautiful nature of North Carolina and has everything you need: Fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with jet tub, comfortable bedding and a romantic gas fireplace. We had come all the way from Denmark to enjoy some privacy and relax from the workdays stress and we were not disappointed. The days were sunny and warm and at night a million stars were out. Deer were playing at the property and squirrels were jumping from tree to tree. The owner is a very nice person and very helpful. Just ask, and he will get you anything you need.
